Childhood Throwback: The “Yarn” Store

When I was a child, there was one place I hated more than any other. Worse than the doctor, the dentist, a funeral – anything, was the fabric store/ “the yarn store”
Bolts and bolts of fabric and stupid patterns held no allure for me. I hated every trip we took to the yarn store and made sure my mother knew it.

So imagine the irony we both felt walking into a fabric store last week so Mom could teach me how to sew. We both giggled. We embraced the irony – and then we embraced the clearance section.

$40 and 11 yards later, I am ready to learn to sew curtains!

This isn’t Batman, and it really has nothing to do with the post, except that it came up when I googled “yarn & bored” – and it’s awesome.
